The Fivepenny Piece have retired! (that's the official line!).
In saying that, there are far too many new releases coming out for a band who have retired!!!
As for gigs, the official line is the same - The Fivepenny Piece have retired. However, they have been known to sneak out on very rare occasions for a bit of a live reunion.
The last such event was John and Lynda's 'A Night Of Nostalgia' at the Broadoak Hotel in Ashton-under-Lyne in September 2008. Previous shows have also included John's grandson Matthew, and gave rise to the 2007 'Where It All Began' album.
So don't expect any major tours; that won't happen. But keep half an eye on the website and maybe - if you're lucky - we might get another show or two before they really retire!
It's my dearest wish to see them perform live and if there is any chance this will happen I will move heaven and earth in order to see them, such is my admiration. I couldn't bear it if I missed a rare event such as this so I'll keep a steady eye on the website.
